The Michigan Educational Theatre Association offers multiple events throughout the year. Whether you are a teacher, student, teaching artist or retired professional, META membership can enhance your learning and keep your practice relevant and ready for the 21st century.

Thespian Festival

The Michigan Thespian Festival  is the biggest high school festival in the state of Michigan. This 2 day event in December is a must do for high school students and their directors.

Leadership Camp

META's multi-day, summer student leadership camp is hosted in July.

New York City Trip

Directors/ Teachers that are active on the Adult Board can join our group trip to NYC along with students from their school.  The trip is always in the Summer.

Jr. Festival

Michigan Jr. Thespian Festival is a one day theatre event designed for Middle School Students.  It typically takes place in March.

Advocacy

META leadership actively engage federal and state policymakers to support arts education.

EdTA National Conference

This national event sponsored by META's parent affiliate provides three days of professional development meant to improve theatre educators practice.

Theatre in our Schools

Theatre in Our Schools TIOS for short, is a national initiative sponsored by the EdTA.

Join the International Thespian Festival, produced by the Educational Theatre Association, showcasing outstanding school theatre productions on four professional stages, and extraordinary opportunities for learning and presentation encompassing all theatrical disciplines.
